Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Night Shift Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a full-time role in Labor and Delivery. The CST will support surgeons and the OR team to ensure safe, efficient operative procedures and maintain sterile technique throughout cases.

Requirements include NBSTSA or NCCT CST certification (prior to 2009 if applicable), BLS within 14 days of hire, and completion of an accredited surgical technology program.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures under supervision of surgeons, RNs, and other surgical staff.
• Maintain the sterile field and ensure the operating room environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Assist in maximizing patient safety during operative procedures.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) works under the supervision of surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical personnel to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.
• The CST ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
• This role ensures the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Previous experience as a surgical technologist.
