Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech (First Assistant) to support the surgical team in our in-person hospital setting in Arkansas. You will position patients, visualize the operative site, and assist with hemostasis and wound care.

The ideal candidate holds CSFA certification, Basic Life Support, and an Associate's degree, with strong sterile technique and professionalism for high-stakes procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) with NBSTSA certification required.
• Basic Life Support certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Position patient to optimize exposure for surgical procedures while ensuring comfort and safety.
• Provide visualization of the operative site using tissue handling, retraction, sponging, suctioning and irrigation.
• Assist with hemostasis and closure, apply dressings, and secure drainage systems.

How You'll Contribute

A Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - First Assistant who excels in this role:

• Positions patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment, when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety.
• Provides visualization of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
• Utilizes appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis. Assists with body plane closure, application of wound dressings, and securing of drainage systems.
