Job summary

Saint Joseph Hospital - Elgin is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician to support surgical teams. You will prepare sterile supplies and instruments, maintain the sterile field, and assist the surgeon with needed items during procedures.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, CST certification, BLS, and 3 years of OR experience or completion of an ORT program. This full-time, day shift role offers benefits and a collaborative hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties (e.g., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in specialty surgical areas (e.g., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
