Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital is seeking a Certified Operating Room Technician to support sterile prep and equipment handling for surgical cases. The role requires maintaining sterile fields and promptly supplying the surgeon with sterile instruments throughout procedures.

Applicants should have an ORT program credential or equivalent experience, CST certification, and BLS on hire; hospital benefits are included. This is a full-time, day-shift position based in Olympia Fields, IL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required or related experience.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or 3 years’ surgical experience.
• Current CST certification is required.
• Experience scrubbing in GYN, General, Plastics settings.
• Experience scrubbing in ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro etc.
• Current BLS certification on hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field during cases and assist surgeon with supplies.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
