Job summary

Prime St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking an Operating Room Tech to support per diem day shifts. You will prepare sterile supplies and instruments, maintain the sterile field, and hand supplies to the surgeon during procedures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, ORT training or on-the-job training with surgical experience, scrub experience across specialties, and a current BLS certificate. Per diem status offers flexible scheduling and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with minimum 3 years surgical experience.
• Experience scrubbing in major and minor procedures across specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Current BLS (AHA) certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.

2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).

3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).

4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).

5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.30. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
