Job summary

Prime Healthcare Services’ Olympia Fields Hospital seeks a Certified Operating Room Tech to prepare sterile supplies and instruments, maintain a sterile field, and assist the surgeon during procedures. The position is full-time, days shift, with a sign-on bonus of $7,500 and a total rewards package including PTO, retirement plan, and health coverage.

Candidates must complete ORT training and hold CST certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or 3+ years’ experience in a surgical setting preferred.
• Current CST certification.
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience scrubbing minor procedures in specialty areas (ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and kept current.

Responsibilities

The Certified Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• 2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years’ experience (surgical setting preferred).
• 3. Current Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist.
• 4. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• 5. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• 6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $20.52 to $28.65 with a Sign on Bonus $7,500. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
