Job summary

The Hospitals of Providence - East Campus is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to join our operating room team. You will support surgical procedures by maintaining sterile technique, preparing equipment and supplies, and assisting surgeons and staff throughout cases.

This role requires completion of a CAAHEP-accredited program and active certifications (AHA BLS and Surgical Technology). Per Diem schedule offers exposure across multiple surgical services with opportunities for on-call shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program.
• Experience: 1 year preferred.
• Certifications: AHA BLS and Surgical Technology certification required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain aseptic technique and prepare equipment and supplies for cases.
• Scrub and pass instruments during procedures; assist with case turnover.
• Available for on-call as required; perform other duties.

The Certified Surgical Tech demonstrates basic knowledge and skills in the scrub role, necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.

Responsibilities

• The Certified Surgical Tech is responsible for aseptic technique, setting up the required equipment, instrumentation and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; scrubbing and passing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure, sets up operating room and supplies needed for day/following day’s schedule.
• Available for call on an assigned scheduled basis as required by unit need.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

• Required: Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited surgical technology program.
• Preferred: Associate degree.

Experience

• Preferred: 1 year.

Certifications

• Required: AHA BLS.
• Surgical Technology certification.
