Barstow Community Hospital in Barstow, CA is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the operating room team under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and a Registered Nurse.

The CST will prepare, handle, and transport instruments and supplies, maintain a sterile field, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures. CPR, NATEST certification, and HS diploma or CST credential are required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or Certification from national association of surgical technologist.
• Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist required.
• CPR certification required (must obtain within 2 months of hire).

Responsabilités

• Assist in intraoperative preparation and handling of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic operating room environment under supervision.
• Transport patients and anticipate surgeon needs during procedures.

Certified Surgical Tech (CST)

Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services, and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intra operatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgeon environment for the patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member for the common good of the patient take responsibility for personal action.

Education: High school graduate or Certification from national association of surgical technologist

Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist required

CPR certification required (must obtain within 2 months of hire).

Experience

• One year experience in a main operating room within the last two years preferred.
• Basic knowledge of scrub role.
• Handling of instruments, set up, anticipates surgeons needs.
• Knowledge of autoclaves.
• Transporting patients.
