Job summary

Overview

Under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist works intraoperatively in the preparation and handling of supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic surgical environment for patients. The Surgical Technologist will perform as a team member, taking responsibility for personal actions to benefit patient care.

• Assist the surgical team to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Take responsibility for personal actions that support patient care.

Education & Certifications

• High school graduate or higher.
• Certification from National Association of Surgical Technologist.
• CPR certification (must be obtained within 2 months of hire).

Experience

• One year of experience in a main operating room within the last two years (preferred).
• Basic knowledge of scrub role.
• Handling of instruments, setup, and anticipation of surgeons’ needs.
• Knowledge of autoclaves.
• Transporting patients.

Licenses & Certifications

• C-ARC-BLS.
