Job summary

Medical City Ambulatory Surgery Center in Addison, Texas is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to support the operating room team under RN supervision. You will assist the surgeon, scrub at the operative field, and help maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role involves preparing the operating room, assisting with instrument handling, and turning over rooms between cases, with emphasis on patient safety and efficient care delivery.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Surgical Tech Certification.
• One year experience in an operating room setting (preferably in an ambulatory surgery center).
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; Online certification not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care and observation in the operating room under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Scrub and assist the surgeon at the operative field.
• Maintain surgical asepsis when handling instruments, sponges, sutures, drains, needles and dressings.
• Assist in turnover of operating room suites between cases and ensure environmental cleanliness.
• Prepare procedure room for use the following day and report unavailable items to supervisor.
