Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or eligibility to take the CST exam.
• The CST certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire to maintain employment; CEUs are required for grandfathered CSTs.
• Active certification must be maintained throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
• Perform selected perioperative technical procedures once competency is demonstrated.
• Work closely with RNs and other healthcare professionals to deliver seamless patient care.
• Support the surgical team by maintaining standards of perioperative nursing practice.
• Provide technical services and assistance that contribute to excellent patient and family experiences.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficiency, safety, and patient satisfaction.
