Job summary

Winona Health is seeking aCertified Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room, working 0.80–0.90 FTE with a schedule supporting days from 6:45 am to 3:15 pm and rotating call, weekend and holiday coverage. The role offers a $15,000 sign‑on bonus and starting pay between $30.36 and $37.95 based on experience.

The CST collaborates with the RN and surgeon, prepares instruments, maintains sterile technique, and ensures patient safety throughout procedures in a supportive care environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Certified as a Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and/or the Association of Surgical Technologists.
• BLS Certification is required.
• Proficient with hospital software including Cerner.

Responsibilities

• Assemble instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures and verify functionality.
• Maintain sterile field and perform counts with RN.
• Assist surgeon and coordinate with RN throughout the procedure.
• Follow infection control practices and department policies.
• Prepare and pass specimens as appropriate.
• Assist with patient positioning and safety before/during/after procedures.
• Support with handling tourniquets, retractors, and instrumentation.
