Job summary

Reston Hospital Center is seeking a Lead Certified Surgical Technologist to guide the OR team, manage complex cardiac procedures, and ensure sterile, efficient operating room operations. You will mentor technologists, uphold infection prevention standards, and coordinate with surgeons for optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist - REQUIRED
• 5 years experience

Responsibilities

• Leading surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure
• Scrubbing in and supporting surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment
• Guiding and mentoring surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices
• Overseeing quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards
• Driving teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem-solving, and support for on‑call and emergency cases
