Job summary

Providence Surgery Center, part of United Surgical Partners International (USPI), seeks a PRN Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) to support surgeons before, during, and after procedures. The CSFA ensures safe, efficient perioperative care within a multispecialty ambulatory setting.

The role requires CSFA certification, active BLS, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced OR/ASC environment. Collaboration and patient safety are core priorities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assist or equivalent program.
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
• Active certification and continuing education compliance.
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred or as required).
• Multispecialty OR/ASC experience preferred.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced multispecialty surgical environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to surgeons before, during, and after procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist with operative procedures as a perioperative team member.
• Support multi-specialty surgical cases across cardiac, ENT, orthopedics, podiatry.

• 1 Treatment Room

The Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) provides direct support to surgeons before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role is essential to ensuring safe, efficient, and high quality surgical care. The CSFA functions as a key member of the perioperative team, assisting with operative procedures while maintaining strict adherence to sterile technique, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical First Assist or equivalent program
• Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required
• Active certification and compliance with continuing education requirements
• Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred or as required by the center)
• Multispecialty experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery center preferred
• Ability to function effectively in a fast paced, multispecialty surgical environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
