Job summary

Qualifications

• 64 college hours or a Bachelor's + 2.5 GPA for Kentucky Emergency Certification or Bachelor's + valid Kentucky Teaching Certification
• Valid Kentucky Teaching Certification or Emergency Certification for substitute teaching (not for long-term assignments)

Responsibilities

• Reports to the principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school building
• Reviews with the principal, department head or team leader all plans and schedules for the day
• Maintains established routines and classroom procedures
• Teaches the lesson outlined in the absent teacher’s plan
• Oversees pupil behavior during class, lunch and recess
• Follows district policies and teaching practices
• Reports in writing notes about assignments and student behavior to the absent teacher
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal or designee
