Job summary

WestCare Inc. is seeking a dedicated clinician at Sheridan Correctional Center to deliver substance abuse treatment and oversee client progress.

You will conduct assessments, develop service plans, and lead education groups focused on therapeutic communities, relapse prevention, and motivation for treatment. Qualifications include CADC or equivalent licensure, several years of counseling experience, and strong organizational and confidentiality skills.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience providing alcohol and substance abuse counseling services.
• Hold clinical certification as CADC or licensed professional/counselor or physician or psychologist or social worker license.
• Bilingual is preferred.
• Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and have excellent time management.
• Ability to pass background check and obtain IDOC clearance.
• Strong computer skills and confidential documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessment of each client with required assessment tools.
• Initiate and sustain client motivation to participate in treatment using engagement techniques.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan including assessments and goals.
• Provide daily treatment and education groups on therapeutic concepts and relapse prevention.
• Assist clients in developing self-help groups such as AA/NA.
• Maintain client treatment files and confidentiality per policy.
• Provide general client supervision and schedule therapeutic activities.
• Submit weekly client data for WestCare database.
• Attend required staff development and training.
