• Certification in Sterile Processing required prior to hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent or 1 year of relevant experience.

+ Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 3:30pm to 12am

Responsibilities

Inspect, assemble and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality, determine need for repair/replacement, validate completeness of set, and facilitate effective sterilization.

1. Operate sterilization equipment and inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to ensure cleanliness and proper functioning.
2. Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers and equipment according to instructions for use (IFUs) and established protocols.
3. Correct instrument sets according to current standards, established count sheets and/or instrument tracking systems.
4. Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
5. Perform regular quality assurance program audits of peers.
6. Contribute to Mission effectiveness by promoting the spirit embodied with the Mission Statement:
7. Demonstrate knowledge of microbiological control and documentation. All other duties as assigned.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of sterilization systems used in accordance with established Infection Control protocols and AAMI standards.
9. Inspect instruments, equipment & containers to assure cleanliness and proper function.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

1. One or more of the following Required:
2. Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
3. Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

1. High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
2. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
