Position Details

• Schedule: Full time, Monday - Friday, 3:30pm to 12am
• Hospital: Ascension, Saint Thomas Midtown
• Location: Nashville, TN

Responsibilities

1. Inspect, assemble, and evaluate all surgical instruments and instrument sets for quality, repair needs, and sterilization readiness.
2. Operate sterilization equipment and ensure instruments and containers are clean and functioning properly.
3. Perform decontamination of soiled instruments and equipment following protocols.
4. Correct instrument sets using current standards and tracking systems.
5. Maintain inventory levels for case carts.
6. Conduct quality assurance audits.
7. Promote the Mission Statement values: Service, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity, Dedication.
8. Ensure microbiological control and proper documentation.
9. Follow established sterilization and infection control standards.
10. Perform instrument and equipment inspections.
11. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Certification from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD), obtained prior to hire.
• High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience.
