Job summary

North Springs Surgery Center, part of HCA Healthcare, seeks a Certified Instrument/Sterile Processing Tech PRN to ensure instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized for patient care. The role requires strict adherence to sterilization standards and documentation of all cycles and tests to support the OR team.

Under RN direction, you will maintain instrument readiness, monitor disinfection processes, and uphold safety and quality across daily operations.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in surgical instrument sterilization processing, preferably in an acute care or ambulatory surgery center.
• Valid BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• Certification and knowledge of AAMI and ASHCSP standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge related to maintenance, cleanliness, and sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Maintain a sanitary environment for the provision of patient care.
• Demonstrate awareness of appropriate sterilization methods for different instruments per manufacturer instructions.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high-level disinfection and sterilization of endoscopy equipment.
• Maintain a daily log, test disinfecting solution efficacy with each cycle, and perform biological testing.
• Monitor and record all test loads and sterilization cycles and document deviations to OR Coordinator/Nurse Manager.
• Maintain an accurate log for equipment out for repair.
