Job summary

Presbyterian Espanola Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to join our PRN team. You will clean, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments for the OR and other departments while maintaining infection control standards.

Under supervision, you will decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize instrument sets, trays and linen for the OR. A High school diploma is required; Tech II certification must be achieved within 14 months; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital environment preferred but not mandatory.
• Must be certified as a Tech II within 14 months of employment.
• Training and inservice on department machinery will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments for the OR and other departments.
• Assemble, package, and sterilize instrument sets and linen as requested by departments.
• Monitor and maintain sterilization standards in accordance with JCAHO.
• Support OR and other departments with sterile processing needs.
