Job summary

Rochester General Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech to support the decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of sterile goods across the hospital. The role requires handling, packing, and stocking activities with strict adherence to safety policies.

The position is per diem with a varied schedule (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and weekend rotation every 6–8 weeks, located at 1425 Portland Avenue, Rochester, NY 14621.

Qualifications

• Requires CRCST or CSPDT certification or grandfathering in a health care central service role.
• Certification due within specified timeframes after hire.
• Provisional certification must be completed within 6 months if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Process and supply sterile goods and equipment hospital-wide.
• Decontaminate, glean, pack, sterilize and store items.
• Maintain supplies for sterilization processes and distribute as needed.
• Identify and report unavailable supplies for replenishment.
• Distribute supplies and equipment across hospital and affiliated sites.
• Follow department policies and keep areas clean and stocked.
• Transport medications from crash cart to pharmacy.
