Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is hiring a New Graduate Sterile Processing Technician to join the Sterile Processing department across various hospitals. Shifts include Day/Evening/Night, with full-time, part-time, or per-diem statuses.

Responsibilities cover decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of sterile goods. Qualifications include CRCST or CSPD credentials, or grandfathering under IAHCSMM rules, plus strong attention to detail and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Credentialed: passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds one of the following credentials: CRCST or CSPD.
• Hard to Fill Clause: facility may employ a person who does not meet the requirements if qualified candidates are unavailable.
• Grand-fathering Clause: evidence of Central Service Technician work in a healthcare facility for 1 year between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Processing: decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distribution of sterile goods and equipment.
• Sterilization: ensure proper supplies and clean/maintain equipment, machines, carts and shelves.
• Distribution: transport supplies, medications and equipment throughout the hospital.
