Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina is seeking a Central Sterile Processing Technician, Certified to clean, decontaminate, assemble, and disinfect instrument sets. This role supports the OR and Sterile Processing, ensuring timely delivery of sterile supplies.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CSPDT or CRCST certification, and no prior experience required beyond certification. A $5,000 commitment bonus is offered for eligible technicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Employees hired before 2/18/19 are not required to have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification required as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA).
• No experience required beyond certification.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays and equipment following tray lists and manufacturers' recommendations.
• Maintains communication with customers and departments regarding requests and delivery of sterile supplies.
• Promotes best practice by demonstrating a commitment to quality patient care.
• Maintains the central processing area to ensure survey readiness and quality initiatives.
• Uses the instrument tracking system and logs to document sterilization loads and handling instructions.
• Maintains sterility and cleanliness of the central processing area according to hospital protocol.
• May assist with teaching new hires and act as a resource for other staff.
