Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join the SPD. You will perform cleaning, decontamination, assembly, sterilization and high-level disinfection of instruments and devices, while monitoring environmental conditions and maintaining accurate records.

The role supports efficient patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment, with responsibilities spanning instruments processing, cart assembly, inventory control, and adherence to IPC standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assists in processing of instruments, surgical trays, and case carts with proper decontamination and sterilization.
• Maintains paperwork and records of processed loads and biological indicators.
• Operates sterilization equipment and monitors environmental conditions per procedures.
• Stocking, inventory, and routine duties to ensure smooth SPD operations.
