Job summary

Sanford Health, a large health system, seeks a Sterile Processing professional to inventory, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical supplies and equipment across the health system.

The role follows SOPs and infection prevention guidelines, ensuring timely workflow and accurate tracking through inventory systems. Prior sterile processing experience and CS tech certification are preferred; CRCST may be required if applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 12 months experience in Sterile Processing and/or Central Distribution is strongly preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology, and must have strong communication and computer skills.
• Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.
• If working in Fargo, North Dakota, certification in Central Service Technology (CRCST) is required within 24 months of date of hire in the position.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in quality and timely manner throughout the health system.
• Follows SOPs and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines; recognizes potential and actual processing errors and follows up accordingly; completes assigned tasks and maintains workflow; utilizes inventory systems.
