Job summary

Care New England Health System in Providence, RI seeks a CPD Certified Technician to perform reprocessing of instruments, supplies, and equipment for patient care. You will collect, transport, and sterilize items and monitor sterilization processes.

The role requires CRCST certification, high school diploma, and strong communication; prior central processing experience preferred. This on-site position supports OR and delivery areas and involves teamwork and case-schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• CRCST certification through IAHCSMM required.
• English language proficiency required.
• One-year central processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects, transports, receives, and processes contaminated instruments, equipment, linen and refuse.
• Sorts, inspects, assembles, wraps, and sterilizes various instrumentation, linens, and supplies according to preprinted kit lists.
• Performs and interprets all sterilization monitoring activities.
• Retrieves preference cards from the computer based on the case schedule.
• Inventories and replenishes sterile linens for surgery, operating room, and labor/delivery, recovery areas.
• Prepares case carts according to preprinted preference cards.
• Serves as a resource to co-workers and other hospital staff as needed.
• Tracks supply inventory and reports shortages to team leader or supervisor.
• Assists other department staff and performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
