Job summary

ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Technician to maintain infection control, clean and sterilize reusable items, and support OR stock management. You will ensure aseptic procedures are followed and contribute to patient care by assisting nursing staff with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and Central Sterile Certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certification: CPR, must obtain Central Sterile Certification within 1 year of hire
• Must have concern for patient care and ability to collaborate with staff.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspects, assembles, wraps, disinfects or sterilizes reusable items.
• Identifies and counts instruments accurately.
• Maintains Steris system and follows manufacturer procedures.
• Manages contaminated items using infection control procedures.
• Assists with nursing admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation as needed.
