Job summary

Mercy Health in Kings Mills is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician Certified to join the Sterile Processing team. Under general supervision, you will inspect, clean, assemble, test, and process patient care equipment in accordance with policies, manufacturer instructions, and regulatory standards (AAMI, JCAHO, CDC).

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification, with preferred experience in a surgical setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/HSPA/CBSPD certification required.
• Recent experience in surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination and processing of surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
• Uses detergents and disinfectants in line with safety standards.
• Maintains inventory, stocks, and proper labeling.
• Documents quality control and uses IT systems for tracking and scheduling.
• Operates sterilizers and ensures aseptic packaging and testing.
• Resolves infection control issues and adheres to PPE guidelines.
• Supports orientation and ongoing education for staff.
