Job summary

Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments and supplies are clean, sterile, and ready for surgical use. You will support surgical staff by maintaining sterile processing workflows and adhering to infection prevention protocols.

Responsibilities include sterilizing instruments, preparing sets and carts, managing inventory, and responding quickly to requests during procedures.

Qualifications

• Certification: CSPDT or CRCST must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date
• BLS/CPR (Basic Cardiac Life Support) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays to ensure sterility and readiness
• Manage sterilization equipment and maintain records for patient safety and infection prevention
• Prepare customized surgical sets and case carts based on daily schedules and procedures
• Manage inventory and supplies in OR storage and specialty lockers; collaborate with the surgical team
• Respond promptly to instrument requests during surgeries and address urgent equipment needs
