Job summary

Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in Mooresville, North Carolina, seeks a Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician to clean, decontaminate, assemble, and disinfect reusable medical instrumentation. Maintain supply levels and ensure a smooth flow between the OR and Sterile Processing.

Certification CSPDT or CRCST required; no experience beyond certification needed. High school diploma or equivalent required; commitment to quality patient care and readiness for survey readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required. Employees hired before 2/18/19 are not required to have high school diploma or equivalent.
• No experience required beyond certification.
• Certification required as CSPDT (CBSPD) or CRCST (HSPA).

Responsibilities

• Cleans, decontaminates, assembles, and disinfects scope trays and equipment following established tray lists and manufactures recommendations.
• Maintains communication with customers and departments regarding requests and delivery of sterile supplies.
• Promotes quality patient care and ensures survey readiness.
• Distributes case carts, equipment, and stat supplies to the OR; maintains sterility per hospital protocol.
• Maintains logs for equipment and tests instrument efficiency prior to reprocessing and reports problems to leadership.
• Assists with teaching new hires and acts as a resource for other units.
