You will review sterilization charts, manage records, and ensure proper cleaning and decontamination of instruments. Strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work under deadlines are essential.

Qualifications

• English communication and customer-facing skills required.
• Medical terminology and infection control knowledge.
• Aseptic technique and sterilization principles required.
• Experience with instrument decontamination and sterilization processes preferred.
• Familiarity with computer systems for tracking and records.

Responsibilities

• Selects materials and packaging for sterilization of instrument sets.
• Ensures sterility indicators and lot stickers are present on items.
• Operates sterilization equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
• Reviews sterilizer charts to verify parameters before clinical use.
• Maintains records and logs of sterilization and decontamination activities.
• Identifies and segregates reusable items for decontamination and sterilization.
• Disassembles, inspects, and assembles instrument sets and trays.
• Follows recall processes for sterilization failures and notifies supervisors.
• Communicates with hospital departments to resolve issues.
• Participates in training and rotates through decontamination, tray assembly, and sterilization areas.
