Overview

Are you motivated and eager to grow your career in refrigeration? Hussmann’s team of Technicians install commercial refrigeration in supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities.

Responsibilities

1. Perform routine maintenance on supermarket refrigeration systems and self-contained merchandisers, demonstrating operating knowledge with guidance from senior technicians.
2. Conduct preventative maintenance including compressor assists, leak searches, and coil washing.
3. Detect and repair leaks, solder, diagnose airflow issues, install PVC drain pipes, replace motors, and perform various repairs with some supervision.
4. Complete work tickets and communicate electronically in a professional manner, utilizing handheld devices.
5. Manage truck inventory and adhere to vehicle maintenance guidelines.
6. Develop excellent customer relations and articulate system issues clearly.
7. Understand electrical schematics and basic refrigeration principles.
8. Responsible for TEV troubleshooting, refrigerant handling, and system evacuations.
9. Additional duties as assigned, equipment specialty may vary by branch.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required; HVAC-R Technical School Degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of field experience or 3 years with technical certification for external candidates; internal candidates require 1 year as a qualified technician.
• Valid driver’s license, physical ability to perform job duties, and excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, and EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred.
