Job summary

Easterseals Western and Central Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Certified School Nurse to serve children aged 3–8 at our school program in West Mifflin, PA. The position provides health care and nursing services, consultation, and collaboration with parents and staff.

Requirements include a BSN, PA RN license, PA DOE School Nurse Certificate, and experience with students with special health needs. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 35 hours weekly, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
Active PA RN license.
PA DOE School Nurse Certificate.
Experience with children with special health care needs.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement health care and emergency care plans for individual students.
Train staff on procedures for health care and emergency care plans.
Handle routine and emergency care for children enrolled in the school program.
Conduct health screenings in accordance with PA state requirements.
Support implementation of students’ IEPs with health-related accommodations and interventions.
Track and maintain immunization records and medical files; report to county health departments and the Department of Education.
