Job summary

Birch Agency seeks a Certified School Nurse (CSN) for the 2026-2027 school year in Skokie, IL. This full-time, in-person role supports student health, wellness, and academic success within a collaborative educational team.

The CSN will administer medications, develop health plans, and coordinate with families and school staff to ensure safe, healthy learning environments. Illinois RN and CSN licensure are required, with prior school nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PEL with a School Nurse endorsement or Illinois Certified School Nurse credential.
• Current Illinois RN license in good standing.
• Experience in school-based nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing services to students in accordance with state regulations and district policies.
• Assess, monitor, and address student health needs, including chronic and acute medical conditions.
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and collaborate on 504 Plans and IEPs as needed.
• Administer medications and perform health-related procedures in compliance with physician orders and school guidelines.
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, families, and community healthcare professionals.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.

This is a full-time, in-person opportunity to support student health, wellness, and academic success while collaborating with a multidisciplinary educational team.
