Job summary

Furqaan Academy Bolingbrook is seeking a School Nurse to promote and maintain the health and well‑being of students and staff. You will provide basic healthcare, manage health records, respond to emergencies, and support a safe school environment.

The role requires an Illinois RN license, CPR/First Aid certification, and experience in pediatric or school health settings. You will collaborate with administrators, teachers, and families to address medical needs and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Illinois.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred.
• Knowledge of student health regulations, medication administration, and emergency procedures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and basic medical care to students and staff as needed.
• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care or referrals.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and school policies.
• Maintain student health records as per ISBE requirements.
• Monitor and manage student health conditions, including allergies, asthma, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns, illnesses, injuries, and medication needs.
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency care when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with state and local health regulations and school policies.
• Conduct health screenings as required (e.g., vision, hearing, immunization compliance).
• Educate students and staff on health, wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention.
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health needs.
• Maintain inventory and supplies.
• Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies.
