Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
  • KY Respiratory License, BLS-CPR, ACLS (within 90 days), NRP (within 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Manage airway care, incentive spirometry, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Operate mechanical ventilators and manage ventilator settings.

Responsibilities

Sign On Bonus up to $25,000 and Student Loan Payback up to $24,000 for Eligible Hires

  • Job Summary / Purpose: The Respiratory Therapist II is a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with knowledge of respiratory care and age-specific competence for all age groups. The incumbent conducts themselves professionally and courteously to patients, physicians, visitors, and healthcare personnel. They support departmental productivity and organizational objectives by functioning as part of the respiratory care team, performing services within their scope of licensure, and aligning with the organization's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and administer aerosol, humidity, oxygen, and medication therapies.
  • Manage airway care, incentive spirometry, bronchial hygiene, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Operate mechanical ventilators and manage ventilator settings and weaning protocols.
  • Perform arterial blood sampling, electrocardiography, pulmonary function testing, and overnight pulse oximetry.
  • Serve as a preceptor and charge respiratory therapist when needed.
  • Assist in research and provide education to patients, families, and staff.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within scope of licensure, including advanced procedures upon additional training and competency.
Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree in Cardiopulmonary Services or Respiratory Care from an accredited program.

Licensure and Certifications: KY Respiratory License, BLS-CPR, ACLS (within 90 days), NRP (within 90 days).

Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, critical thinking, time management, basic computer skills, and knowledge of electronic health records.

Preferred Experience: No prior experience required; at least one year of respiratory critical care experience preferred.

Pay Range

$25.18 - $37.52 per hour
