Job Summary

CRNA III

• Schedule: Variety of schedules available - rotating 8, 10, & 12 hour shifts.
• Sign on Bonus: $45,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance provided.
• Department Details: 17 Main ORs with a variety of service lines including general, gynecology, urology, robotic general/gyn/urology, ortho, neuro, spines, vascular, hearts, and lungs.
• Location: Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Level III provides professional, competent anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients, from pediatric to geriatric populations, requiring surgical, obstetrical, and other anesthesia services. In addition, the CRNA Level III utilizes skills obtained through additional training, education, and/or experience in the provision of anesthesia care to patients with complex and unique anesthetic requirements.

Works primarily in a Tertiary Medical Center with multispecialty trauma services & multiple NORA (Non-Operating Room Anesthesia) sites, providing coverage to ASCs, HOPDs, and Community Medical Centers as directed by NH Anesthesia Leadership. Team members participate in all anesthesia and NORA cases, and may be part of specialized teams such as Cardiac, Neuro, and Neonatal. Participation in call coverage is required if part of the facility scheduling model. Members are expected to participate in at least one department committee or project annually. New graduates may request to transition to CRNA Level III after 12 months of employment. All team members practice within their full scope of CRNA privileges.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN, MSN, DNP, or graduate diploma certification from an accredited nursing and nurse anesthesia program. Must be certified by NBCRNA and recognized as a CRNA in the state of practice. Must meet ongoing continuing education requirements every four years.
• Experience: No prior experience required; a 4-6 week orientation with a preceptor is provided based on prior experience and skills.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current RN license, CRNA endorsement, NBCRNA certification, ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications per NH policy.
• Additional Skills: Extensive knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, drugs, and equipment; ability to modify anesthesia plans suitable for patient age; capacity to make independent decisions under stress; professional demeanor; capable of providing anesthesia care for all case types excluding certain specialty teams.
