Job description

Locums - Portland, Maine, CRNA Opening

Clinical Role:

• Do you know someone that might be a good fit for this position? Please ask about our generous referral fees!
• Dates of coverage: Starting ASAP, ideally at least 6-month contracts, with durations as short as 3 months possible.
• Schedule: 36-40 hours/week, with 10- or 12-hour shifts (option for flexible shifts).
• Reason for Coverage: Expansion of clinical services.
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based.
• Documentation System/EMR: EPIC.
• CRNA supervision: We utilize a medical direction billing model with a collaborative practice environment.
• Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: 100.
• Average Number of Pain Management Cases: 0.
• Facility Level: Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Annual ER Volume: Over 60,000 visits/year.
• OR Staff Description: Maine is a friendly state. Our surgeons and physician anesthesiologists are supportive. Our CRNA team is excellent, with a collaborative culture centered on patient care.
• Number of Operating Rooms: 50.
• Patient Age Demographic: All ages; pediatric cases are covered by a dedicated CRNA team.
• Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 120 days.
• Required Procedures:
• General surgical cases (adult)
• Spinal anesthesia
• Neurosurgical cases
• Ventilation management
• Local infiltration
• Procedures not covered: Open hearts, regional anesthesia, central lines, pediatric, thoracic, and OB cases.
• Board Certification (AANA): Required.
• ME State License: Highly preferred; candidates needing to obtain a license will be considered.
• BLS and ACLS: Required. PALS optional.
• Experience: Over 1 year of Level 1 trauma center experience as a CRNA; new grads not accepted.
