Located in the central part of Michigan, providing the amenities of big city life with all the charm and security of a mid-sized community. About 110 miles to Grand Rapids and 130 miles to Detroit!
Facility:
A 324-bed Medical Center offers a broad range of primary care and specialty care services, as well as 24-hour emergency care and Level II trauma care.
Opportunity:
- Schedule is 4-10s + On call
- Call is split monthly among the CRNA team (currently 23), roughly 1-2 weekdays per month and 1 weekend every couple of months
- This position collaborates with a physician to develop anesthesia care plans. Provides IV sedation, monitored anesthesia care, and administers general, regional, or local anesthesia for various procedures.
- Monitors patients accurately, performs CPR, ventilation, or life support during emergencies
- Manages patients' physiological conditions under anesthesia, initiating corrective actions as needed
- Assists with departmental or professional duties as requested by the Manager of Anesthesiology
Essential Duties:
- Perform pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation
- Prepare the OR suite for all types of anesthesia
- Administer, manage, and monitor anesthesia care during induction, maintenance, and emergence
- Provide post-anesthesia care and evaluation
Skills (include but are not limited to):
- Adult and pediatric venipuncture
- Arterial line insertion
- Medication calculation and effects
- Sterile technique
- Airway maintenance
- Regional anesthetic administration and management
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure safety during anesthesia care
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement
- Provide clinical support to other departments
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience, Training, and Additional Skills:
- Education: Completion of an accredited nurse anesthesia program, NBCRNA certification, and licensure in Michigan. May be completing final coursework and awaiting exam results.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic and advanced anesthesia skills
- Compliance with hospital policies and proficiency in Microsoft Windows

- Ability to handle stressful situations, including trauma and grief
- Ability to wear PPE, move freely, and perform job functions
- Good vision and hearing
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform postural changes
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, following safety protocols
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain regular attendance
- Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally and perform repetitive movements
