Job summary

Phoenix House of New York in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate to guide clients toward treatment and post-discharge continuing care.

This non-exempt, full-time role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to support individuals on their path to recovery.

Qualifications

  • REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Recovery Peer Advocate Certification (CRPA) in good standing
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCEMinimum one year experience providing peer support services.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with individuals to consider entering treatment.
  • Encourage engagement in treatment or other healthcare services.
  • Assist with continuing care services post-discharge.
  • Develop treatment/recovery plans.
  • Raising awareness of existing social and other support services.
  • Model coping skills.
  • Help clients apply for benefits.
  • Accompany clients to court appearances and medical appointments.
  • Provide non-clinical crisis support after hospitalization or incarceration.
  • Identify strengths of participants and link to formal recovery supports.
