Job summary

Moses Lake Industries, Inc. (MLI) is a fast‑growing producer of ultra‑pure chemical products for semiconductor markets. This full‑time, day‑shift role is based in Moses Lake, WA.

You will lead QA/QC, support audits, and drive process improvements across production, R&D, and supply chain. We seek a CQE‑certified or soon‑to‑be-certified professional with 3+ years in manufacturing quality engineering, strong analytics, and proficiency with Minitab/JMP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field required.
  • CQE certification or ability to obtain within 12 months is required.
  • Minimum 3 years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 and customer requirements.
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Lead audits and document control, traceability, and records.
  • Develop QC plans, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead investigations for non-conformances and CAPA actions.
  • Analyze data to drive quality improvements and cost reductions.

Overview

Moses Lake Industries, Inc. (MLI) is a rapidly growing producer of ultra‑pure chemical products, serving the semiconductor and flat‑panel screen industries worldwide. This full‑time, day‑shift role is based in Moses Lake, WA. Salary ranges from $75,000 to $145,000, with up to 25% travel.

Shift/Hours/Location: M‑F, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., onsite

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and customer requirements).
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Participate in internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, certification).
  • Ensure proper documentation control, record retention, and traceability.
  • Monitor and analyze product quality and process performance metrics.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection methods, and acceptance criteria.
  • Support validation activities (process validation, cleaning validation, etc.).
  • Ensure batch release meets all specifications and customer requirements.
  • Lead investigations for non‑conformances, deviations, and customer complaints.
  • Utilize structured problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
  • Implement and verify effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Track and trend quality issues to prevent recurrence.
  • Act as a quality liaison for customers.
  • Support customer audits and respond to quality inquiries or concerns.
  • Review and approve supplier quality documentation as needed.
  • Participate in supplier evaluations and corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, reduce variation, and enhance efficiency.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze data to drive decision‑making and operational improvements.
  • Partner with Production, R&D, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams.
  • Provide quality input for process changes, new product introductions (NPI), and scale‑up activities.
  • Support training efforts related to quality standards and procedures.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and MLI Code of Conduct.
  • Strict compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration are required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high‑performing team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification (e.g., ASQ CQE) required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing (chemical or related industry preferred).
  • Working knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
  • Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA processes; demonstrated ability to write clear technical reports, CAPAs, and customer‑facing quality documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, or similar).
  • Experience with SPC systems or real‑time process monitoring tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar project management certification preferred.
  • Experience using ETQ as a quality management system.
  • ASQ Lead Auditor.
  • Experience in high‑purity chemical manufacturing, semiconductor supply chain, or other ultra‑clean industries.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary range: $75,000 – $145,000 (DOE).

Working Conditions

Duties are performed indoors in an office and high‑purity manufacturing environment. Noise levels are usually quiet to moderate. When working in the presence of safety hazards, employees must follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and full leather shoes, etc. Employees work in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gases with a potential for fire or explosion. They must be free from non‑intrinsically safe devices (e.g., insulin pumps, pacemakers, pain management devices).
