Shift/Hours/Location: Monday- Friday, 6am-4:30pm, onsite Moses Lake, WA (variation & OT as necessary)

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain fabrication machinery and equipment, including machines, presses and forming equipment.
  • Reference work instructions and review print specifications to determine proper materials and machine set‑up and/or adjustment to accomplish production requirements.
  • Perform component operation modifications and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to review and interpret technical drawings, ensuring accuracy and feasibility of fabrication processes.
  • Recommend improvements to fabrication processes, techniques, and equipment to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Assist in other manufacturing departments where necessary.
  • Train and mentor staff on best practices, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including project managers, suppliers, and subcontractors, to coordinate fabrication activities and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • Handle, cut, weld, and assemble materials.
  • Perform precision measurements and inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools to verify dimensional accuracy and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.”
  • Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations.
  • Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed.
  • Stay updated on advancements in fabrication technologies, materials, and techniques through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a scenic, carpentry, or fabrication shop. (Required)
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously to meet established deadlines.
  • Work as a team and/or independently.
  • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Welding certification is preferred.

Summary pay range: $25-$41/hour

Working Conditions

Duties are generally performed indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, in a 24‑hour per day, seven days per week manufacturing environment. Handling and working with hazardous materials and chemical manufacturing equipment is routine. The employee may work in the presence of fumes or airborne particles, hot, toxic or corrosive chemicals, water, liquids and electrical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. When working in the presence of these hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protection such as: hardhat, respirator, hearing protection, protective clothing, safety glasses, safety footwear, etc. MLI is an alcohol and drug free workplace. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gases that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include insulin pumps, pacemakers, pain management devices, etc.
