Job summary

Moses Lake Industries, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Plant Operator to learn plant operations and support manufacturing processes in our Moses Lake facility.

The role offers growth opportunities while contributing to safe, efficient operations in a high-purity environment. You will rotate on two shifts (Day 5:00 AM–2:00 PM and Night 5:00 PM–2:00 AM) across a two-week cycle, with onsite work in Moses Lake, WA.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English; manage multiple priorities; work as a team or independently; attention to detail; punctual attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the production process and ensures efficiency of systems and equipment.
  • Prepare product containers for filling referencing specs and work orders.
  • Formulate and batch product according to customer specifications.
  • Fill container with product following clean room requirements.
  • Prepare product for shipment.
  • Document plant processes and record production data.
  • Train uncertified Chemical Operators according to procedures.
  • Stock product and packaging supplies.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in order to maintain a safe clean work environment using 5S standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Shift/Hours/Location:

This role follows a consistent Thursday through Monday workweek. You will rotate between two fixed shifts:

Day Shift: 5:00 AM to 2:00 PM

Night Shift: 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM

The schedule operates on a 2‑week rotation — two weeks on days, then two weeks on nights. Shift hours do not change. Onsite, Moses Lake

WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON

You will begin by learning the fundamentals of plant operations under the guidance of experienced professionals.

  • Monitors the production process and ensures efficiency of systems and equipment.
  • Prepare product containers (bottles, drums, totes, etc.) for filling referencing all appropriate specs and work orders.
  • Formulate and batch product according to customer specifications.
  • Fill container with product following clean room requirements.
  • Prepare product for shipment.
  • Document plant processes and record production data.
  • Use correct tool/ergonomics when handling or moving any raw materials chemicals, components, equipment, or finished goods.
  • Transport full and empty product containers in various sizes with the assistance of industrial equipment.
  • Train uncertified Chemical Operators according to procedures.
  • Stock product and packaging supplies.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in order to maintain a safe clean work environment utilizing 5s standards.
  • Perform necessary tasks and work hours needed to accomplish departmental and company goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Working knowledge of computers and MS Office software.
  • Working knowledge of arithmetic and grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Follow written and verbal instructions in English.
    • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously in order to meet established deadlines.
    • Work as a team and/or independently.
    • Perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 1 year of chemical manufacturing experience.
SALARY & BENEFITS

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

  • Chemical Operator I: $22-$25/hour
  • Chemical Operator II: $24-$30/hour
  • Chemical Operator III: $27-$33/hour
  • Generous PTO: Your off time is important.
  • Medical/Dental/Vision: Majority of premiums paid by MLI. Includes virtual medical and mental health options.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are generally performed indoors in a high purity manufacturing environment. The noise level in the manufacturing work environment is occasionally loud. When working in the presence of safety hazards, the employee is expected to follow company safety rules and use proper personal protective equipment such as: hardhat, safety glasses and full leather shoes, etc. Employees will work in a covered Process Safety Management (PSM) environment containing threshold quantities of flammable liquids and/or gasses that have a potential for fire or explosion. Employees working in this environment are required to be free from devices that are not considered intrinsically safe. Examples of devices that may not be intrinsically safe include Insulin Pumps, Pacemakers, Pain Management devices, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
