Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• CPC: 5 years experience required.
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.
• Experience with ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and CMS guidelines required.
• Proficient in medical terminology and anatomy for accurate coding.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-9/ICD-10 codes for diagnoses and procedures.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Certified Professional Coder to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes for diagnoses and procedures in accordance with medical coding guidelines
• Utilize CPT and HCPCS coding systems for outpatient and inpatient services
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems for billing, coding, and medical record abstraction
• Ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) regulations and other payer requirements
• Review medical records thoroughly to verify documentation accuracy and completeness
• Collaborate with billing departments to facilitate timely claims submission and follow-up on unpaid or denied claims
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding guidelines to ensure precise coding practices

Skills

• Proficiency in ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, and medical coding software
• Strong understanding of medical billing, collections, and revenue cycle management processes
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems and electronic health record (EHR) management for billing and coding purposes
