Base pay range

$55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

In partnership with the state funded Morris School District Preschool Expansion Program, the F.M. Kirby Children's Center of the Madison Area YMCA is seeking a full-time lead teacher with a P-3 certification .

The lead teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing curriculum, the health and safety of the children, communication with parents and supervision and evaluation of classroom staff.

This is a contract position, and the hours required for this position are 8:45am-4:00pm and will follow the Morris School District calendar.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and carry out developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities for the children.
• Supervise, mentor, and guide assistant teachers.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for optimal growth and development.
• Be responsible for recording and maintaining all required paperwork.
• Attend professional development days and staff and parent meetings.
  
  

Qualifications

• New Jersey State P-3 certification required.
• Curriculum planning experience is preferred.
• Previous experience with supervisory experience.
• Possess at hire and maintain CPR, First Aid, & AED certifications. Will train.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. May also require bending, kneeling, leaning.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible.
• Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Able to administer first aid.
