Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, OH is seeking a Pool & Facilities Maintenance Technician to serve as the Lebanon branch's Certified Pool Operator and maintain aquatic facilities to code. This role ensures safe operations for indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs, following Ohio health codes and YMCA safety standards.

The technician owns the mechanical and chemical aspects of pool operations, including circulation, filtration, water chemistry, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in pool maintenance, mechanical systems, plumbing, electrical work, or HVAC preferred.
• Successful completion of background screening and YMCA abuse-prevention training.

Responsabilités

• Test and adjust pool and hot tub water chemistry; monitor spa temperature and circulation; document testing and chemical treatments according to health department requirements.
• Clean and sanitize pools, hot tubs, decks, and related areas; coordinate cleaning with aquatics and facilities staff.
• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, filters, heaters, feeders, controllers, and spa components; refer specialized work to vendors as needed.
• Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule, equipment records, service logs, and inspection-ready documentation for health dept., YMCA, and internal reviews.
• Inspect drains, ladders, decks, signage, safety equipment, ADA lifts, lane lines, diving boards, and other gear; report hazards promptly.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of pool chemicals; maintain safety data sheets and replenish supplies.
• Coordinate planned pool closures, backwashing, repairs, and seasonal opening/closing of outdoor pools with the Aquatics Director.
• Respond to water quality incidents, chemical spills, and equipment failures under the Emergency Action Plan; communicate with staff.
• Coordinate vendors/contractors for work beyond scope and track service contracts and warranties.
• Answer member/staff questions about pool conditions professionally and communicate repair status to the Aquatics Director.
• Provide guidance on water quality and chemical safety to aquatics staff; contribute maintenance input to planning and capital projects.
• Assist with general facility maintenance as time permits and perform other duties.
