Qualifications

• Associates Degree or 2+ years of direct work experience in multi-specialty coding.
• CPC certification or eligibility required.
• 2-5 years experience in a physician coding environment including coding, compliance and billing.

Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records and abstract data identifying all diagnoses and procedures.
• Code diagnoses, procedures, and modifiers using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4/HCPCS.
• Consult with the team to clarify medical record information when needed.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and regulatory rules.
• Perform random chart audits and respond to coding questions.
• Maintain productivity and coding credentials through ongoing education.
