Responsibilities

• Identify patients using two identifiers and collect specimens by venipuncture, heelstick, or fingerstick.
• Process and order laboratory requests per established procedures to ensure timely results.
• Adhere to HIPAA standards when handling patient information.
• Maintain cleanliness, restock supplies, and assist coworkers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with nurses and physicians regarding test requests.
• Centrifuge and prepare specimens for transport; manage packing lists.
• Assist in CPT/MLS training and safety logs.
