Torrance Memorial Medical Center is seeking a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I to join the Inpatient Phlebotomy Services team under the supervision of the Supervisor. The role collects and prepares blood specimens for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and patient communication.

Responsibilities include adhering to infection control guidelines, performing venipunctures within scope, and documenting results accurately while supporting performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Identifies, collects and labels blood specimens according to procedures.
• Performs blood specimen collection for adult patients.
• Meets blood culture contamination rate of < 1.0%.
• Performs clerical and computer-related documentation accurately.
• Uses SBAR for hand-off communications.
