Job summary

Saint Clare's Health, part of Prime Healthcare, is accepting applications for a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I to join the clinical laboratory team. The role involves blood collection by skin puncture or venipuncture and data entry, under supervision of the Lab Director/Manager.

A high school diploma and CPT I certification are required, with BLS within 45 days of hire. Experience preferred; duties include specimen handling, processing, and assisting with reference lab referrals as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Current and valid CPT I certification required.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
• Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Must meet state regulatory certification requirements to work in the clinical laboratory.
• Perform skin puncture or venipuncture on patients to obtain blood specimens for analysis.
• Handle computer data entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties.
• Possess adequate knowledge of tests ordered in the laboratory.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and telephone etiquette with patients and visitors.
• Assist with specimen processing, loading and handling of specimens and related tasks as assigned.
